AIM:

To refresh communication strategies following an incident aboard the Maersk FPSO, Ngujima-Yin in the Vincent oil field off Western Australia, which highlighted safety concerns in keeping the workforce adequately informed of remedial changes and active repairs.

SOLUTION:

The Company’s existing internal communications provision were reviewed to generate a more focused integrated communications strategy. This strategy engaged the local workforce and kept them updated in a more effective way through newly branded communication tools such as an e-newsletter which was also replicated on noticeboards in offshore facilities.

OUTCOME:

The new communication process received positive feedback from workers, ensuring that they were kept updated on Company’s safety initiatives and progress in the repair of equipment on the facility.
